Mechanism of action

Metadoxil has a detoxification and cytoprotective effect. Stimulates oxidation and accelerates the elimination of ethanol, restores the ratio of saturated and unsaturated free fatty acids in plasma, preventing the primary structural degeneration of hepatocytes, inhibits the formation of fibronectin and collagen.

Indications and usage

Complex therapy of liver diseases, especially alcoholic etiology; acute alcohol intoxication; chronic alcoholism; alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug; pregnancy; lactation period.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Dosage and administration

For acute alcohol intoxication, depending on the degree of intoxication, 300-600 mg (5-10 ml) or 300-900 mg (5-15 ml) are injected into the drug.
