Flixotide /Flixotide
Composition and release form
Flixotide - metered-dose inhalation aerosol:
1 dose contains fluticasone 50, 125 and 250 mcg, excipients: tetrafluoroethane propellant GR106642X (the preparation does not contain freon);
inhalers (with dosing device); in a carton box 1 set.
pharmachologic effect
Flixotide has glucocorticoid, anti-inflammatory local, antiallergic action.
Indications
Bronchial asthma (basic anti-inflammatory therapy) in adults and children 1 g and older (including with severe disease, with dependence on systemic corticosteroids), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in adults.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, acute bronchospasm, asthmatic status (as a primary means), non-asthmatic bronchitis, children's age (up to 1 year).
Be careful with cirrhosis of the liver, glaucoma, hypothyroidism, systemic infections (bacterial, fungal, parasitic, viral), osteoporosis, pulmonary tuberculosis, pregnancy and lactation.
Side effects
Candidiasis of the mouth and pharynx, hoarseness (after inhalation, you must rinse your mouth and throat with water), paradoxical bronchospasm (requires discontinuation of the drug, and continued therapy with other means); rarely - the development of allergic reactions (skin rash, angioedema, dyspnea, or bronchospasm, anaphylactic reactions); possible reduction of the function of the adrenal cortex, osteoporosis, growth retardation in children, cataracts, increased intraocular pressure.
Dosage and administration
Flixotide apply inhalation, after inhalation should rinse your mouth with water.
Bronchial asthma. Adults and adolescents over 16: 100-1000 mcg 2 times a day, depending on the severity of the disease: mild asthma - 100-250 mcg, the average form - 250-500 mcg, severe form - 500-1000 mcg. Depending on the patient's individual response, Flixotide is either increased until the clinical effect appears or reduced to the minimum effective dose.
Children older than 4 years (only in the form of an aerosol for inhalation, dosed at 50 mcg of fluticasone per dose): the recommended dose of 50-100 mcg 2 times a day.
Children from 1 year to 4 years: (only in the form of an aerosol for inhalation dosed at 50 mcg of fluticasone per dose): 100 mcg 2 times a day. Younger children require higher doses compared with older children due to reduced intake of the drug during inhalation (the use of a spacer, a smaller lumen of the bronchi, intense nasal breathing). Flixotide is introduced using an inhaler through a spacer with a face mask (“Bebihaler”). Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Adults, 500 mcg 2 times a day.
Storage conditions and shelf life
Store in a cool and dark place, protected from light and moisture, at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C. Shelf life - 2 years.
