2 ml of solution contains promethazine hydrochloride 50 mg; in ampoules of 2 ml; in the blister of 5 ampoules; in a box 2 blisters.

Mechanism of action

Antihistamine, antiallergic, antiemetic, hypnotic, sedative.

Indications and usage

Allergic diseases (including urticaria, serum sickness, pollinosis, angioedema, pruritus); Anaphylactic reactions to the use of drugs (as an adjuvant therapy after the start of treatment by other means); pre- and postoperative period (as a sedative); prevention and relief of nausea and vomiting associated with anesthesia and / or in the postoperative period; postoperative pain (in addition to analgesics); preventing and eliminating dizziness and nausea while traveling by vehicle.

Additionally for the solution: as a component of lytic mixtures for potentiation of anesthesia.

Contraindications

Pipolphen dragee: Hypersensitivity to phenothiazines; coma or other types of deep CNS depression; simultaneous use of MAO inhibitors; alcohol intoxication, acute intoxication with hypnotic drugs,narcotic analgesics; sleep apnea syndrome; occasionally occurring vomiting in children of unspecified origin; angle-closure glaucoma; pregnancy (no clinical data); lactation period; children's age up to 2 years (dragee).

Pipolphen injection solution: hypersensitivity to phenothiazines, coma or other types of deep CNS depression, pregnancy, lactation, children up to 2 months.

Adverse reactions

On the part of the nervous system: CNS depression, sedation, drowsiness, “nightmarish” dreams, increased sleep apnea, impaired visual acuity, anxiety, psychomotor agitation, dizziness, confusion, disorientation; when taking high doses - extrapyramidal disorders (oculomotor crises, torticollis, tongue protrusion), increased seizure activity (in children).

On the part of the cardiovascular system and blood: possible reduction of blood pressure, tachycardia, bradycardia, orthostatic hypotension.

On the part of the digestive system: dry mouth, pharynx; anesthesia of the oral mucosa (by ingestion), nausea, vomiting, constipation / diarrhea, cholestasis.

On the part of the hematopoietic system: very rarely - thrombocytopenia and / or leukopenia, agranulocytosis.

On the part of the senses: noise or tinnitus, accommodation paresis, blurred vision.

Allergic reactions: urticaria, dermatitis, photosensitivity, bronchospasm.

Other: increased sweating, dry nose, difficulty or painful urination.

Dosage and administration

Pipolphen dragees: orally, for adults, for allergic diseases - usually 25 mg once a day before bedtime or 2 times (in the morning and in the evening) before meals.

The maximum daily intake for adults is 150 mg.

Children 2-5 years old - 5-10 mg 1-3 times a day, 5-10 years - 5-15 mg 1-3 times a day, over 10 years old and adolescents - 5-20 mg 1-3 times a day.

Usually for the treatment prescribed Pipolphen in pills. If patients can not take the drug orally, prescribed in the form of a solution.

Pipolphen solution for injection: IM, 12.5-25 mg every 4-6 hours.

For children: from 2 months to 14 years old - intramuscularly, 0.5-1 mg / kg 3-5 times a day, in severe cases, a single dose for intramuscular administration is increased to 1-2 mg / kg.

Pipolphen is prescribed with caution in acute and chronic respiratory diseases, especially children (due to suppression of the cough reflex), in the narrow-angle form of glaucoma, inhibition of bone marrow function, cardiovascular diseases, in violation of the function of the liver and / or kidneys, in case of stenotic gastric ulcer, bladder neck obstruction and / or prostatic hypertrophy, Raynaud’s syndrome, patients who are prone to seizures, or are receiving Pipolphen with other drugs that have a similar effect in epilepsy ( they have a convulsive threshold).
