Active ingredient and dosage form

Novocaine - injection solution:

1 ml solution for injection contains procaine hydrochloride 5 mg; in 5 ml ampoules, in a carton 10 pcs.

Mechanism of action

Local anesthetic. Novocaine blocks the occurrence of the impulse and its conduction along the nerve fiber - especially the afferent one.

Indications and usage

Infiltration, conduction, epidural and spinal anesthesia; vagosympathetic and perirenal blockade; pain syndrome in gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, hemorrhoids, nausea.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

Dizziness, weakness, hypotension, allergic reactions.

Dosage and administration

Novocaine is injected into / m - 5-10 ml of 1-2% solution 3 times a week for a month, after which a 10-day break is taken; 0.25-0.5% solutions are used for infiltration anesthesia, and 2% solution for conduction anesthesia. Inside - 1/2 tsp (for pain).
