Mechanism of action
Analgesic antipyretic combined composition.
Paracetamol has a pronounced analgesic, antipyretic and weak anti-inflammatory effect.
Chlorphenamine - histamine H blocker1-receptors, has anti-allergic effect, reduces vascular permeability of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, eliminates tearing, itching in the eyes and nose.
Ascorbic acid increases the overall resistance of the body, including to infection, reduces vascular permeability.
Caffeine increases the tone of cerebral vessels, stimulates the heart, has an antispasmodic effect, enhances the analgesic effect of Paracetamol.
The combination of the components of the drug provides better tolerability of the symptoms of malaise and fever with influenza and other colds.
Indications and usage
- pain syndrome of weak or moderate intensity (including headache, sore throat, neuralgia);
- fever with influenza and other infectious and inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract.
A single dose is 2 caps. If necessary, the drug can be taken in the same dose every 4-6 hours, but not more than 3-4 times / day. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 12 caps.
The patient should be warned that Grippostad C is not recommended for more than 3 days as a febrifuge and more than 5 days as an analgesic without the supervision of a physician.
Allergic reactions: rash, pruritus, urticaria; in some cases - hypersensitivity reactions to paracetamol (swelling of the face, sweating, nausea, choking, falling blood pressure until shock).
Gastrointestinal: dry mouth, dyspepsia; with long-term intake in high doses - a violation of the liver.
Urogenital: difficulty urinating; with long-term use in high doses, renal dysfunction.
Hemic and lymphatic: rarely - thrombocytopenia, leukopenia.
- severe liver dysfunction;
- pronounced renal dysfunction;
- genetic absence of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase;
- blood diseases;
- angle-closure glaucoma;
- benign prostatic hypertrophy with the formation of residual urine;
- heart rhythm disturbances;
- severe arterial hypertension;
- lactation period (breastfeeding);
- children's and teenage age up to 15 years;
- hypersensitivity to the drug.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
The drug is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation.
With caution should be used Grippostad C in patients with impaired liver and kidney function, with Gilbert's syndrome (constitutional hyperbilirubinemia).
In order to avoid toxic damage to the liver when using the drug, patients should avoid drinking alcohol. It should not be prescribed to patients with chronic alcoholism.
It is not recommended to use Grippostad C on the background of simultaneous administration of other drugs containing paracetamol or other non-narcotic analgesics and NSAIDs (including sodium metamizole, Acetylsalicylic acid, ibuprofen), as well as on the background of simultaneous administration of barbiturates, antiepileptic drugs, rifampicin, Levomycetin.
Control of laboratory parameters
With prolonged (more than 5 days) use of the drug, it is necessary to control the picture of peripheral blood and the functional state of the liver.
Influence on ability to drive motor transport and control mechanisms
In some patients, Grippostad C may be accompanied by a feeling of mild fatigue, a change in the speed of psychomotor reactions, and a deterioration in the ability to drive vehicles.
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, sweating, tachycardia, arrhythmia, pallor of the skin; after 1-2 days, symptoms of liver damage are determined; in severe cases, liver failure and coma develops.
Treatment: gastric lavage during the first 4 hours, the appointment of adsorbents; conducting symptomatic therapy.
With simultaneous use of paracetamol (part of the drug Grippostad C) with drugs that induce liver enzymes (some hypnotics and anticonvulsants, rifampicin, ethanol), paracetamol hepatotoxicity is enhanced.
List B. The drug should be stored at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C. Shelf life - 5 years.
