Active ingredient and dosage form

Meloxicam pills:
1 pill contains 7.5 and 15 mg meloxicam,
Packed in 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 100 pcs.

Meloxicam intramuscular solution:
1 vial (1.5 ml) contains 15 mg meloxicam;
Excipients: Glycine (amino acetic acid), macrogol (polyethylene glycol 400), meglumine (N-methyl-D-glucamine), povidone-K 17 (plasdon C – 15 or kollidon 17 F), 1.2 - propylene glycol, sodium hydroxide, water for injection;
3, 5 or 10 ampoules per pack.

Mechanism of action

Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic effect.

Indications and usage

Rheumatoid arthritis; osteoarthritis; ankylosing spondylitis (ankylosing spondylitis) and other inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the joints, accompanied by pain. Designed for symptomatic therapy, reducing pain and inflammation at the time of use; no effect on the progression of the disease.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity (including to other NSAIDs), "aspirin" triad (a combination of bronchial asthma, recurrent polyposis of the nose and paranasal sinuses and intolerance to Acetylsalicylic acid and drugs of the pyrazolone series), gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute stage; gastrointestinal,cerebrovascular or other bleeding; severe heart failure, severe liver failure, severe renal failure (if hemodialysis is not performed), pregnancy, breastfeeding, age up to 15 years.

Meloxicam is taken orally, during meals, without chewing, at a dose of 7.5-15 mg 1 time per day. The dose is selected individually, it is necessary to use the smallest effective dose for a minimum period of time.

Intramuscular administration of Meloxicam is advisable during the first 2-3 days of treatment. In the future, you should proceed to receive the drug inside.
The maximum recommended daily dose should not exceed 15 mg.

Adverse reactions

On the part of the digestive tract organs:> 1% - dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation / diarrhea, flatulence; 0.1-1% - stomatitis, transient changes in liver function indicators (increase in transaminase or bilirubin levels), belching, esophagitis, gastric and duodenal ulcer, latent or macroscopically visible Gastrointestinal bleeding; 1% - headache, dizziness; 0.1-1% - vertigo, drowsiness, tinnitus; 1% - swelling, anemia; 0.1-1% - increase in blood pressure, palpitations, flushing of the face, changes in hemogram, incl. change in the number of individual types of leukocytes, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia.

On the part of the respiratory system: exacerbation of bronchial asthma, cough.

On the part of the urogenital system: 0.1-1% - change in indicators of kidney function (increased creatinine and / or blood urea); 1% - skin rash, itching; 0.1-1% - urticaria;
