Mechanism of action

Mirlox is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs). It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects.

Anti-inflammatory effect is associated with inhibition of the enzymatic activity of COX-2, which is involved in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins in the area of ​​inflammation. To a lesser extent, it acts on COX-1, which participates in the synthesis of prostaglandin, which protects the mucous membrane of the digestive tract and participates in the regulation of blood flow in the kidneys.

Overdosage

Symptoms: impaired consciousness, nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract, acute renal failure, liver failure, respiratory arrest, asystole.
Treatment: gastric lavage, taking activated charcoal (within the next hour after ingestion), conducting symptomatic therapy. Kolestiramin accelerates the elimination of meloxicam from the body.Forced diuresis, alkalization of urine, hemodialysis are ineffective due to the high association of meloxicam with blood proteins. There is no specific antidote.

The drug should be stored in a dark place at a temperature no higher than 25 ° C.
