Active ingredient and dosage form

Artrodarin capsules:
1 caps contains diacerein 50 mg;
Excipients: lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium salt, povidone K30, colloidal silicon dioxide, Magnesium stearate, indigotin (E-132), yellow iron oxide (E-172), titanium oxide (E-171), gelatin;
in the package 30 pcs.

Mechanism of action

Arthrodarin is an anti-inflammatory agent with a slow-acting symptomatic effect.
Diacerein inhibits the synthesis and activity of interleukin-1 (IL-1), which plays an important role in the development of inflammation, degradation and subsequent destruction of cartilage in osteoarthritis.
In addition, Diacerein inhibits the action of other cytokines that cause inflammation, including IL-6, TNF-alpha.
Diacerein also slows the formation of metalloproteinases (collagenase, elastase), which are involved in the process of cartilage damage.
With long-term use, diacerein stimulates the synthesis of proteoglycans and does not affect the synthesis of prostaglandins.

Indications and usage

Primary and secondary osteoarthritis.

Contraindications

- Individual intolerance to components of Arthrodarin or high sensitivity to anthrahionic drugs (for example, laxatives).
- Children's age (up to 18 years).
- Pregnancy, lactation.
Use with caution:
- Patients with irritation of the lower intestine drug is prescribed only in special cases.
- It is extremely cautious to use the drug and in the presence of chronic renal failure.

Adverse reactions

In case of hypersensitivity to components of Arthrodarin, allergic reactions of varying degrees may occur.
In the initial period of taking the drug, phenomena on the part of the digestive system may take place (in this case, the dosage may be reduced to 1 capsule per day):
- Diarrhea.
- Nausea and vomiting.
- Abdominal pain.
In the course of treatment, intense staining of urine from yellow to brown color (depending on pH) may occur, which does not require a dose reduction (withdrawal) of the drug.

Dosage and administration

Standard intake of 1 capsule 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening, after meals).
Capsules should be swallowed whole, not liquid, and drink water. The effect of the treatment should be expected in 2-4 weeks.
Arthrodarin is taken continuously for a long time or in courses of at least 4 months duration.

The duration of treatment, depending on the result achieved, can be long. In the period preceding the development of a therapeutic effect.
Arthrodarin can be taken simultaneously with analgesics and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
