Active ingredient and dosage form

Cipralex - the pills covered with a cover:

1 tab. contains escitalopram (in the form of oxalate) 5 mg, excipients: talc; croscarmellose sodium; MCC; colloidal anhydrous silicon; Magnesium stearate; in a blister strip package 14 pcs.; in a carton pack of 2 packs (5 mg, 20 mg) or in a carton pack of 1, 2, or 4 packs (10 mg).

Mechanism of action

Cipralex has an antidepressant effect.

Indications and usage

Depressive episodes of any severity;

panic disorder with / without agoraphobia.

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to escitalopram and other components of Cipralex;

simultaneous administration of MAO inhibitors;

pregnancy;

lactation period (breastfeeding);

children's age up to 15 years.

Adverse reactions

On the part of the digestive system: most often - nausea, loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation; possible - vomiting, dry mouth, changes in laboratory parameters of liver function.

On the part of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: most often - insomnia or drowsiness, dizziness, weakness; possible - visual disturbances, seizures, tremor, movement disorders, taste disturbances, serotonin syndrome, hallucinations, mania, confusion, agitation, anxiety, depersonalization, panic attacks, increased irritability.

On the part of metabolism: most often - excessive sweating, hyperthermia; possibly - hyponatremia.

On the part of the reproductive system: most often - decreased libido, impotence, impaired ejaculation, anorgasmia (in women).

Cardiovascular: possible orthostatic hypotension.

On the part of the endocrine system: perhaps - insufficient secretion of ADH, galactorrhea.

Dosage and administration

Cipralex is taken orally, regardless of the meal, once a day.
