KEPPRA PILLS 500MG

Indications and usage

As an additional therapy, for the treatment of patients with partial epilepsy (partial seizures with or without secondary generalization).

1000-3000 mg per day in two doses. The initial therapeutic dose of 500 mg 2 times a day. The daily dose may be increased depending on the clinical response and tolerability up to 1500 mg 2 times a day. A 500 mg dose change can be done every 2-4 weeks.

Adverse reactions

Drowsiness, dizziness, asthenia, headache.

Hypersensitivity to levetiracetam or other pyrrolidone derivative, as well as to any components of the drug.

Use during pregnancy when absolutely necessary. It is not recommended to take the drug during breastfeeding in patients under the age of 16 years.

Special notes

Elderly patients and patients with renal insufficiency is recommended individual selection of the dose.

If you need to cancel treatment, it is recommended to gradually stop taking the drug (a single dose is reduced by 500 mg every 2-4 weeks).

Drug Interactions

Interaction with other drugs is practically absent. There is no data on the interaction with alcohol.
