TOCOPHEROL ACETATE CAPSULES

Mechanism of action

: 
It has an antioxidant effect, is involved in the biosynthesis of heme and proteins, cell proliferation, tissue respiration, other important processes of tissue metabolism, prevents hemolysis of red blood cells, prevents increased permeability and capillary fragility.

Pharmacokinetics:
When ingestion absorption is 50%; in the process of absorption forms a complex with lipoproteins (intracellular carriers of tocopherol).
Bile acids are required for absorption.
Associated with alpha1- and beta-lipoproteins, in part - with serum albumin.
In case of a breakdown in protein metabolism, it becomes difficult.
Cmax is reached after 4 hours.
Deposited in the adrenal glands, pituitary, testes, adipose and muscle tissue, red blood cells, liver.
More than 90% is excreted in the bile, 6% in the kidneys.

-elderly age;
- diseases of the ligaments and muscles;
-climacteric vegetative disorders;
- non-growing with fatigue, asthenic neurasthenic syndrome, primary muscular dystrophy, post-traumatic, post-infectious secondary myopathy;
-degenerative and proliferative changes of the joints and ligaments of the spine and large joints.

Dosing regimen:
Usually prescribed 100-300 mg / day.
If necessary, the dose can be increased to 1 g / day.

Adverse reactions

: 
-Possible: allergic reactions;
- when taken in high doses - diarrhea, epigastric pain;
- when i / m administration - pain, infiltration at the injection site.

Contraindications

: 
Hypersensitivity to tocopherol.

Use during pregnancy and lactation:
Tocopherol is used during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) as indicated.

Special instructions:
Caution should be used in severe cardiosclerosis, myocardial infarction, with an increased risk of thromboembolism.

Drug Interactions:
-When used simultaneously with tocopherol, it is possible to change the effects of Warfarin and dicumarol.
- There are reports of a decrease in the effectiveness of simultaneous iron therapy in children.
- At simultaneous use of tocopherol with cyclosporine, the absorption of cyclosporin increases.
