Side effects

Possible: allergic reactions.

With the dense imposition of tampons subfebrile is possible, due to a violation of the outflow of purulent exudate, which disappears on its own after removing the tampons.

Dosage and administration

Locally. The treatment is carried out by a dentist and begins with the removal of supragingival dental calculus. At the same time, measures are being taken to ventilate the gum pockets with a spray or jet of warm water.

Then, the installation of Maraslavin is carried out using loose cotton swabs in the alveolar and bone pockets using a probe. For this purpose, 20-25 ml of Maraslavin is poured into a glass vessel, with which cotton swabs are abundantly moistened (their size depends on the width of the alveolar or bone pocket). Tampons are left in pockets for 5-6 minutes, while at this time they put tampons on the other side of the teeth or in the pockets of the adjacent teeth. This procedure is repeated 5-6 times in one session (successively in each pocket). With each change of tampon, it penetrates more easily and deeper into the alveolar pocket.

The last tampons are left to lie loosely in the pockets, the patient is released until the next day with a recommendation to remove the tampons in the event of fever (due to purulent exudation) or other health conditions and to go to the dentist.

At the second treatment session, the tampons left after the first visit are removed and the subgingival dental calculus is removed. Consistently put several tampons in each pocket as in the first session. The last tampons are also left for as long as 24 hours. The treatment is carried out at intervals of 3 months. It should be 17-20 sessions of treatment according to the above method, depending on the extent of the disease and the patient's condition. It is necessary that the first 5-6 sessions were conducted with an interval of 24 hours.
