Active ingredient and dosage form

Holisal - dental gel:

1 g of gel contains choline salicylate anhydrous 87.1 mg, cetalconium chloride 0.1 mg,

excipients: hydroxyethyl cellulose; glycerol; methyloxybenzoate; propyloxybenzoate; anise oil; ethanol; purified water;

in tubes of 10 g; in a pack of cardboard 1 tube.

Mechanism of action

Cholisal has anti-inflammatory local, analgesic, antimicrobial action.

Indications and usage

Infectious-inflammatory, ulcerative-necrotic, trophic diseases of the oral mucosa: stomatitis of various etiologies, gingivitis, periodontitis, damage to the mucous membranes when wearing dentures, injuries of the oral mucosa, pain during teething in children, glandular cheilitis, small operative interventions, lichen planus, erythema multiforme exudative (including Stevens-Jones syndrome) - as part of complex therapy.

Hypersensitivity to salicylates and other components of HOLISAL.

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions are possible, sometimes (with acute damage to the mucous membrane of the oral cavity) - short-term slight burning sensation, passing on its own.

Dosage and administration

Locally, 2-3 times a day before meals (for the purpose of pain relief) or after meals and before bedtime (if not otherwise prescribed). Holisal gel in the amount of 1 cm for adults and 0.5 cm for children is squeezed onto a clean finger and rubbed with light massaging movements into the affected mucous membrane.

In case of periodontal diseases: Holisal gel is introduced into the gum pockets, used as a compress or gently rubbed into the gums 1-2 times a day.

Storage conditions
