Pharmacology

Vicks asset - a combined drug, the action of which is due to the components in its composition. Provides irritant, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. Reducing the degree of nasal congestion with a single application of the drug is observed up to 8 hours.

Indications

Relieves cold symptoms:
- dry cough
- Nasal congestion

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, a tendency to laryngo-and bronchospasm, bronchial asthma, whooping cough, false croup (acute stenosing laryngotracheitis), cough caused by accumulation of sputum (mucus), prolonged or chronic cough caused by smoking or emphysema, skin damage and skin diseases in the area of ​​the intended use of the drug, children under 2 years.

Pregnanacy and breastfeeding

In connection with the lack of experience in the use of pregnant and lactating women, the appointment of the drug in this group is not recommended.

Dosage and administration

External use (rubbing).
Only for adults and children over 2 years old.
To rub the ointment in light movements 2-4 times a day in the skin of the chest with a runny nose and nasal congestion; in the skin of the neck when coughing and sore throat; in the skin of the back when coughing. The duration of treatment is on average up to 5 days.

Adverse effects

Allergic reactions, laryngospasm, bronchospasm, skin irritation in the application area, lacrimation are possible.

Special notes

Do not swallow. Do not put the drug on the skin in the nose and / or face. You should avoid getting the drug in the eyes, mucous membranes of the nose, oral cavity. In case of accidental ingestion of the ointment in the eyes and mucous membranes, it is recommended to rinse abundantly with water.

Never heat the drug and do not use it in a heated state. After rubbing, clothing covering the area of ​​application of the drug should not be tightly tightened.

If the state of health does not improve within 5 days or becomes worse, it is necessary to consult a doctor.
