Mechanism of action

Cordiamine - analeptic. It stimulates the central nervous system, stimulates the respiratory and vasomotor centers (especially when the vasomotor center is lowered). Direct stimulating effect on the heart and vasoconstrictor effect is not observed. In large (toxic) doses can cause clonic convulsions.

Violation of cardiac activity, shock, asphyxia, intoxication with narcotic, hypnotic drugs, analgesics.

Contraindications

Predisposition to convulsions.

Dosage and administration

Intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous.

The dose and frequency of administration is determined individually, depending on the evidence, the age of the patient and the dosage form used.

Adverse reactions

Anxiety, muscular twitching, starting with circular muscles of the mouth, facial redness, itching of the skin, vomiting, and heart rhythm disturbances.

Overdosage

Symptoms: convulsions.

Treatment: symptomatic.
