Active ingredient and dosage form
Tablets, film coated, prolonged action: 1 tab. Felodipine contains 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg; in plastic bottles of 30 pieces.
Mechanism of action
Hypotensive, antianginal. Plendil blocks Calcium channels, inhibits the entry of calcium ions into smooth muscle cells of arterial vessels, causes their expansion, reduces the round focal system, lowers blood pressure, afterload on the heart, increases coronary blood flow, improves the balance of oxygen supply / consumption of myocardium.
Indications and usage
Arterial hypertension, angina pectoris.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, decompensated heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina, pregnancy, child age.
Dosage and administration
Plendil is recommended to be taken orally in the morning with water. pills should not be broken, crushed or chewed. Plendil can be taken on an empty stomach or after a light breakfast that does not contain large amounts of fat or carbohydrates.
The initial dose is 5 mg 1 time per day. If necessary, the dose may be increased or another antihypertensive drug added. The usual maintenance dose of Plendil is 5 to 10 mg 1 time per day.Elderly patients should consider starting treatment with a daily dose of 2.5 mg.
Adverse reactions
Often (more than 1%): headache, flushing, peripheral edema. Sometimes (0.1-1%): tachycardia, palpitations, fatigue, dizziness, paresthesia, nausea, rash, itching. Rarely (0.01-0.1%): fainting, vomiting, arthralgia, myalgia, sexual dysfunction, impotence, urticaria. Very rarely (less than 0.01%): gingival hyperplasia, elevated liver enzymes, photosensitization, pollakiuria, allergic reactions (fever, angioedema).
Drug interactions
Biotransformation inhibitors (cimetidine) increase plasma concentration, stimulants (phenytoin, Carbamazepine, barbiturates) decrease.
Storage conditions
At temperatures not above 25 ° C.
Plandil
