Active ingredient and dosage form

Fosicard - tablets:

1 tab. contains Fosinopril sodium 5, 10 and 20 mg, excipients: lactose monohydrate; croscarmellose sodium; pregelatinized corn starch (starch 1500); MCC; glycerol dibehenat;

in blister pack of 14; in a pack of cardboard 2 blisters.

Mechanism of action

Fosicard has a hypotensive, vasodilating effect.

Indications and usage

arterial hypertension;

chronic heart failure.

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to fosinopril or other components of Fosicard;

hereditary or idiopathic angioedema, incl. in history after taking other ACE inhibitors;

pregnancy;

lactation period;

age up to 18 years (efficacy and safety have not been established).

Adverse reactions

Cardiovascular: reduction of blood pressure, orthostatic hypotension, tachycardia, palpitations, arrhythmias, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction; chest pain.

On the part of the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, constipation, intestinal obstruction, pancreatitis, hepatitis, stomatitis, glossitis, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, anorexia, cholestatic jaundice.

On the part of the respiratory system: dry cough, shortness of breath, pharyngitis, laryngitis, sinusitis, pulmonary infiltrates, bronchospasm, dysphonia.

On the part of the urinary system: the development or aggravation of the symptoms of chronic renal failure, proteinuria, oliguria.

From the side of the central nervous system: stroke, cerebral ischemia, dizziness, headache, weakness; when used in high doses - insomnia, anxiety, depression, confusion, paresthesia, disorders of the vestibular apparatus.

On the part of the senses: hearing and vision impairment, tinnitus.

Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, angioedema.

On the part of laboratory parameters: hypercreatininemia, increased activity of hepatic transaminases, hyperbilirubinemia, hyperkalemia, increased urea concentration, hyponatremia; decrease in hemoglobin and hematocrit, neutropenia, leukopenia, eosinophilia, increased ESR.

Dosage and administration

Fosicard take inside. Dosage should be adjusted individually.

When treating hypertension, it is necessary, if possible, to stop taking antihypertensive drugs for several days before starting to take Fozikarda. The initial dose of the drug is 10 mg 1 time per day. A further dose of the drug is selected in accordance with the indicators of blood pressure. Maintenance dose is 10-40 mg 1 time per day. In the absence of a positive effect from monotherapy with Fozikardom, diuretic may be added.

If treatment with Fozikardom begin on the background of ongoing diuretic therapy, the initial dose of the drug should be no more than 10 mg with careful medical supervision.

In the treatment of chronic heart failure, the initial dose of Fosicard is 10 mg once a day.Next, the dose of the drug is selected in accordance with the dynamics of the clinical response, increasing by 10 mg weekly. The maximum dose is 40 mg / day. Perhaps an additional appointment diuretic.
