Active ingredient and dosage form

Oral solution:
1 g contains an extract of horse chestnut dry fruit, incl. escin 10 mg, thiamine chloride 5 mg;

Mechanism of action

Eskuzan - herbal remedies used for violations of the venous circulation. Contains horse chestnut fruit extract, anti-exudative, venotonic effect. It has been established that an extract of horse chestnut fruit reduces the concentration of lysosomal enzymes, as a result of which the breakdown of mucopolysaccharides in the region of the capillary walls is reduced. Eskuzan reduces the permeability of blood vessels, preventing the filtration of low molecular weight proteins, electrolytes and water into the extracellular space. In randomized double-blind and cross-sectional studies, there was a decrease in transcapillary filtration and a significant decrease in edema, a decrease in the feeling of heaviness, fatigue, tension, itching, and pain.

Indications and usage

Chronic venous insufficiency of varicose and post-thrombotic genesis and its complications, including diseases associated with functional impairment of blood supply: edema, convulsions in the calf muscles; pain and feeling of heaviness in the legs; phlebeurysm; hemorrhoids.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Dosage and administration

Assign inside 12-15 drops (2-3 tablets) 3 times / day.
The drug should be taken before meals with a small amount of liquid.
The average duration of treatment is 3 months. If necessary, the course can be continued.
Before taking the drug the contents of the vial should be shaken.

Adverse reactions

Drug Interactions

The action of thiamine, which is part of the drug Eskuzan, decreases with simultaneous use with sulfite-containing infusion solutions.
