Composition
Ethinyl estradiol, D-norgestrel
Mechanism of action
RIGEVIDON - oral contraceptive. Interferes with the process of ovulation. It complicates the penetration of sperm into the uterus.
Indications and usage
Prevention of unwanted pregnancy, functional disorders of the menstrual cycle.
Contraindications
Severe liver disease; Dubin-Johnson Syndrome; Rothera syndrome; severe cardiovascular disease, a tendency to thrombosis; liver tumor, abnormal liver function, cholecystitis; chronic colitis; endocrine gland diseases; diseases of the brain vessels; breast cancer, endometrium and other malignant tumors; severe hypertension and diabetes mellitus; porphyria; violation of fat metabolism; unexplained vaginal bleeding; violation of hemostasis; otosclerosis; jaundice and pruritus, which were manifested in previous pregnancies.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
During periods of pregnancy and lactation, the drug is contraindicated. Reception of Rigevidon should be stopped 3 months before the onset of the planned pregnancy. In the event of an unplanned pregnancy, Rigevidon must be canceled.
Dosage and administration
In order to prevent pregnancy, they take orally 1 pill of Rigevidon per day, starting in one of the first 5 days of the menstrual cycle, at the same time of the day, if possible in the evening. The drug should be taken daily for 21 days, then a 7-day break is taken, during which menstrual bleeding appears.
If a woman for some reason did not take a pill at the usual time, she should take the missed pill as soon as possible.
Immediately after the 7-day break, the 21-day course of taking the drug is resumed, preferably on the same day of the week. Under this scheme, Rigavid is taken as long as prevention of pregnancy is desired. For therapeutic purposes, the doctor selects the dose of the drug individually.
Adverse reactions
Digestive disorders, engorgement of the mammary glands, increase or decrease in body weight, changes in libido, slight spotting from the vagina, uterine bleeding; headache, fatigue, mood swings; skin rash; cramps in the calves.
