Mechanism of action

The drug for the treatment of acne. Retinoid.

Adapalen is a metabolite of the retinoid, has comedonolytic and anti-inflammatory activity, normalizes the processes of keratinization and epidermal differentiation.

The mechanism of action of adapalene is based on interaction with specific γ-receptors of epidermal cells of the skin. As a result of the action of adapalene, in particular, there is a decrease in the "cohesion" of epithelial cells in the mouth of the hair-tissue follicle and a decrease in the prerequisites for the formation of microcomedoes.

Adapalen has anti-inflammatory effects in vitro and in vivo, affecting inflammation factors by inhibiting the migration of leukocytes in the focus of inflammation and arachidonic acid metabolism.

Dosage and administration

Outwardly.

Before using Klenzit gel, you must clean and dry your skin. With a light touch, apply the gel evenly on the affected surface 1 time a day before going to bed on clean, dry skin, avoiding contact with the eyes and lips.

The therapeutic effect develops after 4-8 weeks of treatment, persistent improvement occurs after 3 months of treatment.

In some cases, due to short-term irritation of the skin, treatment may be suspended until the signs of irritation disappear.

Repeated treatment is possible after consultation with the doctor.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug,
• pregnancy, lactation.

Special notes

Avoid contact with eyes and lips. In case of accidental contact with the drug on the mucous eyes, mouth or nose, rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Avoid direct sunlight. skin irritation may occur. Treatment can be continued if solar exposure is minimized (use of sunglasses and hats).

The simultaneous use of cosmetics with a drying and irritating effect on the skin (for example, perfume or alcohol-containing agents) is not recommended.

Adapalen applied to the skin in the evening can be combined with preparations for the treatment of acne, applied in the morning.
