Active ingredient and dosage form

Tablets, film coated:
1 pill contains tolterodine hydrotartrate 1 and 2 mg;
Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A), colloidal silicon dioxide, sodium stearyl fumarate;
shell composition: hypromellose 2910/5, macrogol 6000, titanium dioxide, talc, iron dye yellow oxide;
in packing of 28 or 56 pieces.

Mechanism of action

Urotol - M-holinoblokator, a drug that reduces the tone of smooth muscles of the urinary tract. Has anticholinergic, antispasmodic action.

Indications and usage

Overactive bladder, manifested by frequent urging to urinate or urinary incontinence.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, urinary retention, resistant to myasthenia gravis, angle-closure glaucoma, severe ulcerative colitis, megacolon, age up to 18 years; pregnancy and breastfeeding.

WITH caution prescribe a drug for severe obstruction of the lower urinary tract due to the risk of urinary retention, with an increased risk of reducing gastrointestinal motility, obstructive gastrointestinal diseases (eg, pyloric stenosis), renal or hepatic failure (daily dose should not exceed 2 mg), neuropathy, hiatal hernia.

Dosage and administration

Urotol is taken orally, 2 mg 2 times a day. In case of renal and / or liver failure, as well as in the case of side effects, the dose is reduced to 1 mg 2 times a day. The duration of the course of treatment is 3-6 months, after which it is necessary to assess the need for further treatment.

Adverse reactions

From the nervous system and sensory organs: visual impairment (including accommodation disturbance), dizziness, headache, xerophthalmia, drowsiness, fatigue.
Cardiovascular: Arterial hypertension (dizziness).
On the part of the gastrointestinal tract: dry mouth, dyspepsia, nausea, constipation or diarrhea, abdominal pain, flatulence.
Urogenital: urinary tract infections (difficulty, painful urination, urgency, leukocyturia, hematuria), dysuria.
Other: flu-like symptoms (including joint pain); allergic reactions. When taken in pill form: dry skin, bronchitis, weight gain, chest pain. When taken in capsule form with prolonged action: sinusitis.
