Composition

Ear drops:
100 g drops of phenazone 4 g and Lidocaine hydrochloride 1 g,
Excipients: 
Sodium thiosulfate, ethanol, glycerol, water;
15 ml (16 g) in a bottle.

Mechanism of action

Otipax - the combined drug for local use in an ENT-practice. It has a local anesthetic and anti-inflammatory effect.

Phenazone - analgesic antipyretic with anti-inflammatory and analgesic action.
Lidocaine - local anesthetic. The combination of phenazone and lidocaine contributes to a more rapid onset of anesthesia, and also increases its intensity and duration.

Indications and usage

Otitis: acute middle, post-flu, barotraumatic, etc.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug; perforation of the eardrum.

Dosage and administration

Otipax is instilled into the external auditory meatus 4 drops 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is not more than 10 days.

In order to avoid contact of the cold solution with the auricle, the bottle should be warmed in the palms before use.

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions, irritation and hyperemia of the ear canal.

Before using the drug, you must ensure the integrity of the eardrum. In case of using the drug with perforated eardrum, complications may develop due to contact of the active substance with components of the middle ear system.

It should be borne in mind that the drug contains an active substance that can give a positive test for doping control.
