Active ingredient
Otinum - ear drops 20%:
1 fl. contains choline salicylate 2 g; in polyethylene bottles of 10 g with a metering device.
Mechanism of action
Otinum has anti-inflammatory, analgesic effect.
Indications and usage
Acute catarrhal inflammation of the external auditory canal (including complicated by a bacterial infection), eardrum and middle ear; before washing the external auditory canal.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to salicylates or other NSAIDs (including Aspirin asthma), perforation of the eardrum.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Given the nature of the action Otinum and the potential danger caused by salicylates, the use of the drug during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is not recommended.
Adverse reactions
Allergic reactions; with prolonged use, as well as in patients with perforated eardrum, hearing loss may occur.
Dosage and administration
Adults, usually 3-4 drops in the ear canal 3-4 times a day.
Drops Otinum should be buried in the ear, putting the patient on his side; after the procedure, the patient must remain in this position for several minutes.
Salicylic acid derivatives, if they enter the middle ear through a damaged eardrum, can cause hearing loss or deafness. In this regard, Otinum should not be used without a preliminary examination of the otolaryngologist.
It is recommended to limit the use of Otinum to the required minimum.
Storage conditions
