Nesopin
 nasal spray
 - colorless or with a yellowish tinge, clear or opalescent liquid.
active substance: oxymetazoline hydrochloride - 0.5 mg;
Excipients: menthol, eucalyptus oil, disodium edetate, diatrium hydrogen phosphate dodehydrate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, propylene glycol, benzyl alcohol, water for injection up to 1 ml.

On 10 ml and 20 ml in bottles with a nozzle spray in a cardboard pack.

Mechanism of action


Nesopin - alpha-suppository agent for local use. Has a vasoconstrictor effect. Intranasal administration reduces swelling of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract.
The effect occurs 15 minutes after application and lasts for 8-12 hours

Indications and usage

Rhinitis allergic and infectious-inflammatory etiology, sinusitis, eustachitis, hay fever. A remedy for the treatment of rhinitis.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, atrophic rhinitis, pregnancy, lactation, children's age (up to 6 years).
Carefully - chronic heart failure, arrhythmias, pronounced asteroscleosis, arterial hypertension, thyrotoxicosis, diabetes mellitus, chronic renal failure, angle-closure glaucoma.

Dosage and administration


Nesopin administered intranasally.
Adults and children over 12 years old - 2-3 injections into each nasal passage with an interval of 10-12 hours.
Children from 6 to 12 years - on 1 injection in each nasal course.

Adverse reactions

Transient dryness and burning of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, dry mouth and throat, sneezing; high blood pressure, increased anxiety, nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, palpitations, sleep disorders. With prolonged use - tachyphylaxis, reactive hyperemia of the mucous membrane and atrophy of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity.

Overdosage


Symptoms: tachycardia, increased blood pressure, depression of the central nervous system.
Treatment: symptomatic.

Drug interactions

Slows down the absorption of local anesthetic drugs, prolongs their action.
Co-administration of other vasoconstrictor drugs increases the risk of side effects.
With the simultaneous appointment of monoamine oxidase blockers and tricyclic antidepressants - increased blood pressure.

Special notes

In the recommended dosage without consultation with your doctor you can use no more than 3 days.
Avoid getting the drug intended for intranasal administration in the eyes. The drug has an effect on vision (in case of contact with eyes), a decrease in the reaction rate is possible.
At dosages exceeding those recommended, it may affect the ability to drive a vehicle or equipment.
