Mechanism of action

Bronchotone - a combined drug, has antitussive and bronchodilatory effect. Glaucine hydrobromide suppresses the cough center, without, however, leading to respiratory depression, the development of constipation and drug dependence. Ephedrine stimulates breathing, dilates the bronchi and (due to vasoconstrictor action) eliminates the swelling of the bronchial mucosa. Basil oil has a sedative (weak), antimicrobial and antispasmodic effect.

Indications and usage

Dry cough: bronchitis, tracheobronchitis, COPD, bronchial asthma, whooping cough, bronchopneumonia.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, coronary atherosclerosis, angina pectoris, thyrotoxicosis, arterial hypertension, insomnia, CHF, pheochromocytoma, angle-closure glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy (in case of residual urine), childhood (up to 3 years).C caution. Patients prone to the development of drug dependence.

Dosage and Administration

The drug should be taken orally, adults - on 1 st. Spoon Bronchotone (15 ml) 3-4 times a day.Children over 3 years old - 1 tsp (5 ml) 3 times a day, over 10 years old - 2 tsp 3 times a day.

Special notes

Bronchotone reduces the hypotensive effect of sympatholytics.

Overdosage

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, agitation, tremor of the extremities, impaired blood circulation, dizziness, urinary retention.
Treatment: gastric lavage.
