Active ingredient and dosage form

Bronchus syrup in the form of a clear liquid from colorless to slightly yellowish color:
5 ml of syrup contains Ambroxol hydrochloride 15 mg;
bottles of 100 ml, complete with a dosing spoon or a cup

Mechanism of action

Bronchorus is a mucolytic agent.
Possesses sekretomotorny, sekretolitichesky and expectorant action; stimulates the serous cells of the glands of the mucous membrane of the bronchi, increases the content of mucous secretion and increases the synthesis and secretion of surfactant (surfactant) in the alveoli and bronchi; normalizes the disturbed ratio of serous and mucous components of sputum. Activating hydrolyzing enzymes and enhancing the release of lysosomes from Clark cells, reduces the viscosity of sputum. The bronchus increases the motor activity of the ciliated epithelium, increases mucociliary transport. When ingested, the bronchus action occurs after 30 minutes and lasts for 6-12 hours.

Indications and usage

Diseases of the respiratory tract with the formation of viscous sputum:
- acute and chronic bronchitis;
- pneumonia;
- bronchial asthma with the difficulty of sputum discharge;
- bronchiectasis;
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD);
- treatment and prevention of respiratory distress syndrome.
 
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to the drug;

Dosage and administration

Bronchorus taken orally, during a meal, with a small amount of fluid.
Adults are given 30 mg (10 ml of syrup) in the first 2-3 days, then 15 mg (5 ml of syrup) 3 times a day; or 30 mg (10 ml of syrup) 2 times a day. In severe cases of the disease, the dose is not reduced during the entire course of treatment.

Children at the age of 5-12 years old are prescribed 15 mg (5 ml of syrup) 2-3 times a day, at the age of 2-5 years - 7.5 mg (2.5 ml of syrup) 3 times a day, up to 2 years - 7.5 mg (2.5 ml of syrup) 2 times a day.

Adverse reactions

On the part of the digestive system: diarrhea, dry mouth, constipation; with prolonged use in high doses - gastralgia, nausea, vomiting.
On the part of the respiratory system: dryness of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, rhinorrhea.
Allergic reactions: skin rash, urticaria, angioedema; in some cases - allergic dermatitis, anaphylactic shock.
Other: rarely - weakness, headache, rash, dysuria.

Special notes

Bronchorus should not be combined with antitussive drugs that impede the excretion of sputum.
Patients suffering from diabetes, you can assign a syrup: 5 ml of syrup contain sorbitol and saccharin in an amount corresponding to 0.18 XE.
