Active ingredient and dosage form
Carsil dragee biconvex, brown, odorless.
1 pill contains silymarin 35 mg;
Excipients: lactose monohydrate, wheat starch, polyvidone, microcrystalline cellulose, talc, Magnesium stearate, dextrose, sorbitol, sodium bicarbonate.

Mechanism of action
- hepatoprotector of plant origin, derived from the plant Silybum marianum (Cardui mariae fructus).
The effect of the drug is due to the effects of silymarin, which is a mixture of various flavonoids, the most active of which is silibinin. Stimulates cellular metabolism. It activates the synthesis of proteins and phospholipids in hepatocytes, prevents the destruction of cell membranes, which prevents the loss of cell components, prevents the penetration of toxins into liver cells.
Indications and usage
Toxic liver damage; chronic hepatitis non-viral etiology; cirrhosis of the liver (as part of complex therapy); condition after acute hepatitis; for the purpose of prophylaxis with long-term medication, alcohol, chronic intoxication (including professional).
Dosage and administration
For adults Carsil is prescribed 1-2 pills 3 times / day.If necessary, the daily dose may be increased to 12 pills (420 mg).
For preventive purposes the drug is prescribed in a daily dose of 2-3 pills (70-105 mg).
The duration of treatment is at least 90 days.
Children over the age of 12 the drug is prescribed in a daily dose at the rate of 5 mg / kg of body weight, divided into 2-3 doses.
Drops taken inside without chewing.
Adverse reactions
Gastrointestinal: rarely - dyspepsia, diarrhea.
Dermatologic: in some cases - alopecia, skin manifestations of allergic reactions.
Other: in some cases - exacerbation of existing vestibular disorders.
Contraindications
Children's age up to 12 years; hypersensitivity to the drug.
Storage conditions
