Active ingredient

Lozenges white or almost white, flat-cylindrical, with a smooth shiny surface and beveled edges, without pores.
1 pill contains a mixture of lysates of bacteria - 50 mg (dry matter): Streptococcus pyogenes group A, Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium, Streptococcus sanguis, Staphylococcus aureus subsp. aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae subsp. pneumoniae, Corynebacterium pseudodiphtheriticum, Fusobacterium nucleatum subsp. nucleatum, Candida albicans, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus helveticus, Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. lactis;
Excipients: lactose, mannitol, Glycine, povidone, sodium saccharinate, sodium bicarbonate, anhydrous citric acid, peppermint powder, Magnesium stearate, sodium merthiolate (preservative) - no more than 12.5 μg / tabl.;

Mechanism of action

Immunostimulatory drug of bacterial origin for local use in dentistry and otorhinolaryngology. It is a polyvalent antigenic complex, which consists of lysates of bacteria, most often causing pathogenic processes in the oral cavity and pharynx.
Imudon activates phagocytosis, increases the number of immune cells, increases the production of lysozyme and Interferon, secretion of immunoglobulin A in saliva.

Indications and usage

Treatment and / or prevention of inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx:
- pharyngitis;
- chronic tonsillitis;
- dysbacteriosis of the oral cavity;
- erythematous and ulcerative gingivitis;
- superficial and deep periodontal disease, periodontitis, stomatitis, glossitis, aphthous stomatitis;
- ulceration caused by dentures;
- infections after removal of teeth, implantation of artificial dental roots;
- preoperative preparation for tonsillectomy;
- postoperative management of patients after tonsillectomy.

Contraindications

- children's age up to 3 years;
- hypersensitivity to the drug.

Dosage and administration

Adults and teenagers over 14 years old in acute inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx and exacerbation of chronic diseases the drug is prescribed in a dose of 8 pills / day. pills dissolve (without chewing) in the oral cavity with an interval of 1 h. The average duration of the course of treatment is 10 days.
For the prevention of chronic inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx the drug is prescribed in a dose of 6 tab. / day. The pills dissolve (without chewing) in the oral cavity with an interval of 2 hours. The duration of the course of treatment is 20 days.
It is recommended to conduct preventive courses 3-4 times a year.
Children aged 3 to 14 years in the treatment and prevention of acute and exacerbations of chronic inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx the drug is prescribed in a dose of 6 tab. / day. pills dissolve (without chewing) in the oral cavity with an interval of 2 hours. The duration of the course of treatment for acute diseases is 10 days, for the prevention of chronic diseases - 20 days.
It is recommended to conduct preventive courses 3-4 times a year.

Adverse reactions

Gastrointestinal: rarely - nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain.
Allergic reactions: rarely - skin rash, urticaria, angioedema.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

It is not recommended to take Imudon during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).

Special notes

If necessary, you can rinse your mouth no earlier than 1 hour after applying Imudon, so as not to reduce the therapeutic activity of the drug.
When prescribing the drug to patients who are on a low-salt or low-salt diet, it is necessary to take into account that 1 tab. Imudona contains 15 mg of sodium.
Imudon can be used simultaneously with other drugs.
Use in pediatrics
Children aged 3 to 6 years must dissolve pills under adult supervision.
Influence on ability to drive motor transport and control mechanisms
There is no evidence of the need for any restrictions during the period of treatment for activities related to driving or other mechanisms.

Overdosage

To date, cases of overdose Imudon drug have been reported.
