1 pill contains 500 mg ornidazole; 3, 6, 9, 10, 15, 20 or 30 pieces per pack.
Mechanism of action
Gairo is an antiprotozoal agent derived from 5-nitroimidazole. It is believed that the mechanism of action is associated with a violation of the structure of the DNA of sensitive microorganisms. It is active against Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia lamblia, Entamoeba histolytica, as well as against some anaerobic bacteria (including Bacteroides spp., Clostridium spp., Fusobacterium and anaerobic cocci).
Trichomoniasis, amebiasis (intestinal and non-intestinal forms, including amoebic dysentery and amebic abscess of the liver), giardiasis, prevention of postoperative complications (especially during operations on the colon or in gynecology).
Contraindications
CNS diseases, acute neurological diseases, I trimester of pregnancy, lactation period, hypersensitivity to ornidazole.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
In pregnancy, the use of Gayro is possible only by absolute indications, if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
Adverse reactions
On the part of the digestive system: possible - nausea, heartburn, dizziness, drowsiness, skin rash.
On the part of the nervous system: possible - headache, dizziness, impaired consciousness, tremor, muscle rigidity, impaired motor coordination, convulsions, sensory or mixed peripheral neuropathy, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Dosage and administration
For oral administration, depending on the indications, treatment regimen and the patient's body weight, a single dose of Gayro for adults varies from 500 mg to 2 g; for children weighing up to 35 kg, the daily dose is 20-40 mg / kg. Frequency of reception and duration of use are set individually.
In the treatment of trichomoniasis should be the simultaneous treatment of both partners.
Storage conditions
