The ICA-LG-FACTOR strip is designed for in vitro one-step, rapid, qualitative detection of luteinizing hormone (LH) in human urine using immunochromatographic analysis to determine the time of ovulation.

Strip working principle

The definition is based on the principle of immunochromatographic analysis, in which the sample under study is adsorbed by the absorbing sections of the Strip; in the presence of LH in the sample, it reacts with specific mouse monoclocal antibodies to the γ and γ subunits of LH bound to colloidal gold particles, forming an antigen-antibody complex. This complex reacts competitively with the LH conjugate immobilized in the test zone of the Strip, and if the concentration of LH in the analyzed urine sample is below the threshold level (20 mIU / ml), one line of pink color is formed in the test zone, which indicates a negative result. In the presence of LH at a concentration of 20 mIU / ml / ml and above in an analyzed urine sample, LH binds to labeled dye antibodies; at the same time, in the dough zone two parallel lines of pink color are formed, which indicates a positive result of the analysis.
The use of strips is associated with the determination of the rapid release of LH into the urine. LH is always present in the urine, but its concentration increases dramatically in the middle of the menstrual cycle, which leads to the release of egg cells from the ovary (ovulation) in 24-36 hours. The IHA-LH-FACTOR strip determines the release of LH, which precedes ovulation, and thus informs about the 2 days when pregnancy is most likely.
