Packaging
100 ml syrup in a bottle. In a cardboard bundle one bottle.
Mechanism of action
Licorice root syrup has an expectorant effect, due primarily to the presence of glycyrrhizin, which enhances the secretory function of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract.
Indications and usage
Used in adults and children as an expectorant for diseases of the upper respiratory tract, accompanied by cough, mainly in the presence of poorly separated, thick and viscous secretion (especially in children and the elderly).
Contraindications
- Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.
- Pregnancy.
- Lactation period.
- Bronchial asthma.
- Gastritis.
- Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the period of exacerbation.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
With caution apply during pregnancy and lactation.
Dosage and administration
Adults on 1 teaspoon, previously diluted in 1/2 cup of water. 3 times a day.
Children under 2 years old - 1-2 drops (previously diluted in 1 teaspoon of water) 3 times a day.
Children from 2 to 6 years old - 2-10 drops (previously diluted in 1 teaspoon of water) 3 times a day.
Children from 6 to 12 years old - 50 drops (previously diluted in 1/2 cup of water) 3 times a day.
Children over 12 years old - 1/2 teaspoon (previously diluted in 1 teaspoon of water) 3 times a day.
The course of treatment is 7-10 days. The feasibility of a second course of treatment is determined by the doctor. In the presence of poorly separated sputum and to facilitate expectoration, it is recommended to drink plenty of warm drinks.
Adverse reactions
Allergic reactions are possible. In some cases, dyspeptic symptoms (diarrhea) may occur. With prolonged use with an excess of these dosages, hypokalemia, increased blood pressure, and the appearance of peripheral edema due to impaired water-salt metabolism are possible.
Storage conditions
Store in a cool dry place protected from light.
2 years.
