Indications and usage

- an established Magnesium deficiency, isolated or associated with other deficient conditions, accompanied by symptoms such as increased irritability, minor sleep disorders, gastrointestinal spasms, heart palpitations, fatigue, muscle pain and spasms, tingling sensation in the muscles.

If after a month of treatment there is no reduction of these symptoms, the continuation of treatment is inappropriate.

Tablets should be taken whole with a glass of water.

Adults: 3-4 tab. / Day, divided into 2-3 doses, with meals.

Children over 12 years old: 2-4 tab. / Day, divided into 2-3 doses, with meals.

Usually the duration of treatment is 1 month.

Adverse reactions

The incidence of adverse reactions is classified according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization: very often (≥10%), often (≥1% and <10%), infrequently (≥0.1% and <1%), rarely (≥0.01% and <0.1% ), very rarely (<0.01%), unknown frequency (when, however, it is not possible to estimate the incidence of adverse reactions in the available data).

Immune system: very rarely (<0.01%) - allergic reactions, including skin reactions.

From the digestive tract: unknown frequency (according to the available data to estimate the frequency of occurrence is not possible) - diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, flatulence.

Contraindications

- Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug;

- severe renal failure (CC less than 30 ml / min);

- age up to 12 years (efficacy and safety have not been established);

- hereditary galactosemia, malabsorption syndrome of glucose and galactose or lactase deficiency (due to the presence of monohydrate in the composition of the lactose preparation);

- simultaneous administration of levodopa (see "Drug Interactions").

Moderate renal failure (danger of developing hypermagnesia).

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Pregnancy

Clinical experience with a combination of magnesium citrate and Pyridoxine hydrochloride in a sufficient number of pregnant women did not reveal any adverse effect on the occurrence of fetal malformations or the fetotoxic effect. Breastfeeding period

Taking into account that magnesium penetrates into the mother's milk, if necessary, taking the drug is recommended to stop breastfeeding.

To use the drug with caution in patients with moderate renal insufficiency (the risk of hypermagneemia).

Use of the drug is contraindicated in patients with severe renal insufficiency (CC less than 30 ml / min).

Use in children

Use of the drug is contraindicated in children under the age of 12 years (efficacy and safety have not been established).

Special notes

The drug Maghelis B6 forte, film pills intended only for adults and children over 12 years old.

The drug contains lactose monohydrate, so its use is not recommended for patients with hereditary galactosemia, malabsorption of glucose and galactose, or lactase deficiency.

In moderate renal insufficiency, the drug should be taken with caution because of the risk of hypermagneemia.

In case of a simultaneous deficiency of Calcium and magnesium, a deficiency of magnesium should be replenished before the beginning of the intake of calcium preparations or food supplements containing calcium.

When using pyridoxine in high doses (more than 200 mg / day) for a long time (for several months or in some cases - years), sensory axonal neuropathy may develop, which is accompanied by symptoms such as numbness and impaired proprioceptive sensitivity, distal tremor limbs and gradually developing sensory ataxia (impaired coordination of movements).These disorders are usually reversible and disappear after discontinuation of vitamin B.6.

Overdosage

Symptoms

With normal kidney function, an overdose of magnesium when taken orally does not usually lead to toxic reactions. However, in case of kidney failure, the development of magnesium poisoning is possible.

Symptoms of overdose, the severity of which depends on the concentration of magnesium in the blood: a decrease in blood pressure; nausea, vomiting; CNS depression, decreased reflexes; changes on the electrocardiogram; respiratory depression, coma, cardiac arrest and respiratory paralysis; anuric syndrome.

Treatment

Rehydration, forced diuresis. In renal insufficiency, hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis is necessary.

Contraindications

WITH levodopa: Levodopa activity is inhibited by pyridoxine (if the intake of this drug is not combined with the intake of peripheral decarboxylase inhibitors of aromatic L-amino acids). Reception of any amount of pyridoxine should be avoided if levodopa is not taken in combination with the peripheral decarboxylase inhibitors of aromatic L-amino acids.

Combinations not recommended

The simultaneous use of drugs containing phosphates or calcium salts, may worsen the absorption of magnesium in the intestine.

Combinations to be taken into account

When prescribing inside tetracyclines, it is necessary to observe an interval of at least 3 hours between ingestion of Tetracycline and Maggelis B6 forte, tablets, film coated, since magnesium preparations reduce the absorption of tetracyclines.
