Mechanism of action

Diazolin - H1-histamine receptor blocker. It has antiallergic action, reduces swelling of the mucous membranes. Weaken the effect of histamine on the smooth muscles of the bronchi, uterus and intestines, reduces the severity of lowering blood pressure and increase vascular permeability. Slightly penetrating into the central nervous system, in contrast to antihistamine drugs I generation does not have a pronounced sedative and hypnotic action. It has mild anticholinergic and anesthetic properties. The therapeutic effect develops after 15-30 minutes after administration, the maximum effect is observed after 1-2 hours. The duration of the effect can reach 2 days.

Indications and usage

Hay fever, conjunctivitis, urticaria, eczema, pruritus, drug rash, skin reaction after an insect bite.

Contraindications

Dosage and administration

Drops should be taken orally, without chewing, during or immediately after a meal. Adults and children from 12 years old are prescribed 0.1 g 1-3 times a day, children over 2 years old - 0.05 g 1-2 times a day, from 5 years old - 0.05 g 2-3 times a day, children 5-10 years - 0.05 g 2-4 times a day. Higher doses for adults: single - 0.3 g, daily - 0.6 g. The duration of treatment is determined by the nature of the disease and the therapeutic effect achieved.

Adverse reactions

On the part of the digestive system: irritating effect on the gastrointestinal mucosa, manifested by dyspeptic symptoms (heartburn, nausea, epigastric pain, etc.). On the part of the nervous system: dizziness, paresthesia, tremor, fatigue, drowsiness, anxiety (at night), slowing down of the reaction rate. Other: dry mouth, urinary retention, allergic reactions, extremely rare - granulocytopenia and agranulocytosis.In children, paradoxical reactions: irritability, irritability, tremor, sleep disturbances.

Special notes

It is ineffective in bronchial asthma and anaphylactic shock. During the period of treatment, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and psychomotor speed.
