pharmachologic effect

Venitan Forte is a combined preparation for external use. It contains a venotonic agent and a direct anticoagulant.

Escin contained in horse chestnut seeds (Aesculus hippocastanum L., semen), is a mixture of triterpene saponins. Escin has an anti-inflammatory effect mainly in the initial phase of the inflammatory reaction, compacting the walls of capillaries and thus reducing their permeability, which is increased during inflammation. Estsin also has a positive effect in case of fragility of the capillary walls and increases the tone of the venous walls when it is weakened. All this leads to a decrease in stagnation in the venous bed and the accumulation of fluid in the tissues, preventing the appearance of edema.

Heparin interferes with blood coagulation, which reduces blood clots in the vessels, and also has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Dexpanthenol and Allantoin improve the absorption of active substances through the skin and, thus, enhance their therapeutic effect.

Indications and usage

Peripheral circulation disorders, varicose veins, venous insufficiency, feeling of heaviness in the legs during pregnancy or prolonged standing, to relieve soft tissue swelling and accelerate the resorption of post-traumatic hematomas or injections.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug Venitan Forte.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

There are no restrictions on the use of indications during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Due to the low degree of absorption of the active substances that make up the gel, they do not have a systemic effect. The need for the appointment of the drug during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding), the doctor determines individually.

Special notes

Do not apply the cream on damaged skin, do not massage it when applied. With the sudden appearance of severe symptoms of venous insufficiency (swelling, discoloration of the skin, a feeling of tension and pain), especially on one leg, thrombosis of the lower extremities should be excluded. If these symptoms appear, you should immediately consult a doctor.

Active ingredient

1 g contains:

Active substances: β-escin amorphous 10 mg, Heparin sodium 100 ME;

Excipients: dexanaptenol; allantoin powdered; sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate; sodium hydroxide; carboxypolymethyl paragen - carbopol 934P; simethicone emulsion; propylene glycol; purified water.

Dosage and administration

A thin layer of Venitan Forte gel should be applied to the skin of the painful areas and around them and gently rub. The gel should be applied 1-3 times a day. In inflammatory diseases of the veins, the gel is not rubbed.It is not necessary to immediately apply all the amount of gel that is needed for treatment, it is applied gradually, in small portions. In case of trophic ulcers of the leg, the edges of the ulcer should be smeared with gel, where blood circulation is impaired; however, care should be taken that the gel does not fall directly on the surface of the ulcer.

For varicose veins of the lower extremities, it is also recommended to use an elastic bandage or to wear special tightening tights.

Adverse reactions

It is rarely possible manifestation of allergic reactions.
