Active ingredient and dosage form

Gelmintoks - coated tablets: 1 pill contains Pyrantel Embonate (in terms of Pyrantel base) 125 and 250 mg; 3 pieces per pack;

Gelmintoks - suspension for oral administration:

100 ml contains Pyrantel Embonat (in terms of pyrantel base) 5 g; in brown glass bottles of 15 ml

Mechanism of action

Gelmintoks has anthelmintic effect. It causes neuromuscular blockade in sensitive worms and ensures their expulsion without stimulation and stimulation of migration of affected worms. Helmintox in the intestinal lumen is effective against mature and immature sensitive worms of both sexes.

Indications and usage

Ascariasis, enterobiosis (infection with pinworms), ankilostomidosis.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to pyrantel and other components of the drug, myasthenia gravis, liver failure.

With care - children's age up to 6 months.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

When pregnancy Gelmintoks apply in case of emergency. At the time of treatment should stop breastfeeding (the drug penetrates into breast milk).

Adverse reactions

Dosage and administration

Helmintox is taken orally, at any time of the day, without first taking laxatives, not necessarily on an empty stomach.

The usual dosage is 12.5 mg / kg once:

- children under 6 years old - 1 scoop of suspension per 10 kg of body weight;

- children over 6 years old - 1 scoop of suspension or 1 tab. 125 mg per 10 kg body weight;

- adults weighing less than 75 kg - 6 scoops or 6 table. 125 mg, or 3 table. 250 mg each;

- adults weighing more than 75 kg - 8 scoops of suspension or 8 tablets. 125 mg, or 4 tablets. 250 mg.
