Mechanism of action
Maninil has a hypoglycemic effect.
Indications and usage
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (insulin-independent) with the ineffectiveness of diet therapy, loss of body weight with obesity and sufficient physical activity.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity (including to sulfonamide drugs and other sulfonylurea derivatives), type 1 diabetes mellitus (insulin-dependent), metabolic decompensation (ketoacidosis, precoma, coma), condition after pancreatic resection, severe liver and kidney diseases, some acute conditions (for example, decompensation of carbohydrate metabolism in infectious diseases, burns, injuries or after major surgeries when insulin therapy is indicated), leukopenia, intestinal obstruction, paralysis order, state, accompanied by malabsorption of food and the development of hypoglycemia, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Dosage and administration
Maninil is taken orally, in the morning and in the evening, before eating, without chewing. Dose set individually, depending on the severity of the disease.
The initial dose is 1/2 table., The average - 2 table. per day, the maximum - 3-4 tab. per day.
Three dosage forms allow the use of 20 possible dosing regimens.
Adverse reactions
Hypoglycemia is possible (when skipping meals, overdosing the drug, with increased physical exertion, as well as with heavy use of alcohol).
On the part of the digestive tract: sometimes - nausea, vomiting; in some cases - cholestatic jaundice, hepatitis.
From the hematopoietic system: extremely rare - thrombocytopenia, granulocytopenia, erythrocytopenia (up to pancytopenia), in some cases - hemolytic anemia.
Allergic reactions: extremely rare - skin rash, fever, joint pain, proteinuria.
Others: at the beginning of treatment, transient accommodation disorder is possible. In rare cases - photosensitivity.
