Neurontin - capsules:

1 caspula contains Gabapentin 100, 300 and 400 mg; 20, 50 and 100 pieces per pack.

Neurontin - coated tablets: 1 pill contains gabapentin 600 and 800 mg; 20, 50 and 100 pieces per pack.

Mechanism of action

Neurontin has an anticonvulsant effect.

Indications and usage

- treatment of neuropathic pain in adults aged 18 years and older;

- monotherapy of partial seizures with secondary generalization and without it in adults and children over the age of 12 years;

- as an additional tool in the treatment of partial seizures with secondary generalization and without it in adults and children aged 3 years and older.

Contraindications

- children's age up to 3 years;

- hypersensitivity to gabapentin and other components of the drug.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

With caution should use the drug for renal failure. Patients with renal insufficiency are recommended to lower the dose of Neurontin.

Adverse reactions

On the part of the body as a whole: at least 1% - accidental injuries, asthenia, back pain, flu-like syndrome, headache, infection, pain of various localization, peripheral edema, weight gain.

On the part of the digestive system: at least 1% - constipation, diarrhea, dry mouth, dyspepsia, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain.

From the side of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: at least 1% - gait disturbance, amnesia, ataxia, confusion, dizziness, hypoesthesia, drowsiness, impaired thinking, tremor.

On the part of the respiratory system: at least 1% - shortness of breath, pharyngitis;

Dermatological reactions: at least 1% - skin rash.

From the senses: at least 1% - amblyopia.

Dosage and administration

Neurontin is taken orally, regardless of the meal or with food. Adults and children over 12 years old: effective dose - 900-3600 mg / day.

Special notes

Neurontoins are generally not considered an effective treatment for absence epilepsy.
