Composition

Thermicon spray is a clear, colorless or light yellow liquid with a characteristic odor of alcohol, which is in a container (vial) with a mechanical dosing pump. 1 ml of spray contains: active substance: Terbinafine hydrochloride 10 mg excipients: rectified ethyl alcohol, propylene glycol, cetomacrogol 1000 (or proxanol 268), purified water.

Pharmacology

spray - antifungal drug for local use. Terbinafine active substance Thermicon, is an allylamine and has a broad spectrum of antifungal action. Terbinafine has a fungicidal effect against dermatophytes, molds and some dimorphic fungi. Activity against yeast fungi, depending on their species, can be fungicidal or fungistatic.

Terbinafine disrupts the early stages of ergosterol biosynthesis in fungi. This leads to a deficiency of ergosterol and intracellular accumulation of squalene, which causes the death of the fungal cell. The action of terbinafine is carried out by inhibiting the enzyme squalene epoxidase, located on the cell membrane of the fungus. This enzyme does not belong to the cytochrome P450 system. Terbinafine does not affect the metabolism of hormones or other drugs. As a result, the early stage of sterol biosynthesis is disturbed.

Indications
Fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton (including T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton violaceum), Microsporum canis, Epidermophyton floccosum. Pityriasis versicolor, caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare (also known as Malassezia furfur).

Dosage and administration

Thermikon spray can be used by adults once or twice a day, depending on the evidence. Before applying the drug must be cleaned and dried the affected areas. The drug is sprayed onto the affected areas in an amount sufficient to thoroughly moisturize them, and in addition, applied to the adjacent areas of both the affected and intact skin.

The duration of treatment and frequency of use - 7 days 1 or 2 times a day.

Reducing the severity of clinical manifestations is usually observed in the first days of treatment.In the case of irregular treatment or its premature termination, there is a risk of recurrence of the infection. In the event that after a week of treatment there are no signs of improvement, the diagnosis should be verified.

Experience with Thermicon Spray in children is limited.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to terbinafine or to any other component that is part of the drug.

Precautionary measures
Care should be taken when applying a spray Thermicon to damaged skin, as alcohol can cause irritation. Thermicon spray is for external use only.
Avoid contact with eyes, as it may cause irritation. In case of accidental ingestion of the drug in the eyes, they should be washed with running water, and in case of persistent irritation, consult a doctor.

If the drug was accidentally introduced into the respiratory tract during inhalation, then, in the event of any symptoms, and especially when they persist, you should consult with your doctor.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

In studies conducted in animals, the teratogenic properties of terbinafine were not identified. To date, no malformations have been reported with the use of terbinafine. However, since the clinical experience with the use of a thermoconcent spray in pregnant women is very limited, it should be used only under strict indications.

It is known that terbinafine is excreted in breast milk. However, in the case of nursing mother's use of a thermoconder spray, a small amount of the active substance is absorbed into the skin, therefore an adverse effect on the infant is unlikely.

Side effects
In the place of application of the drug in rare cases there was a redness, itching or burning sensation, however, the cessation of treatment due to these phenomena is rarely required.
These above-mentioned symptoms should be distinguished from allergic reactions that rarely occur, but when they occur, treatment should be stopped.
