Mechanism of action
Salicylic ointment reduces the secretion of sweat and sebaceous glands, weak antimicrobial action.
Indications and usage
Monotherapy and as part of a combination of drugs for inflammatory, infectious and other skin lesions, including burns, psoriasis, eczema, dyskeratosis, ichthyosis, common acne, warts, corns, oily seborrhea; hair loss; sweaty feet.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Dosage and administration
Locally, put on the lesion (ointment - a thin layer) and cover with a sterile cloth or apply a sterile dressing soaked in ointment. Before applying the dressing, the wound is cleaned of necrotic tissue, opened up with blisters, washed with an antiseptic solution. The dressing is changed 1 time in 2–3 days until complete purification from purulent-necrotic masses. The consumption of ointment per dressing depends on the size of the wound and averages 0.2 g per 1 cm2 of the wound surface. The duration of treatment is on average 6–20 days.
Outwardly, the affected surface is treated with an alcohol solution 2-3 times a day.
Adverse reactions
Local allergic reactions.
