pharmachologic effect

A drug that improves microcirculation. Antiplatelet. Angioprotector. Stimulates the synthesis of prostacyclin by endothelial cells, inhibits the reuptake of adenosine by red blood cells and inhibits platelet phosphodiesterase. Curantil reduces the adhesion and aggregation of platelets and improves the deformability of red blood cells, reduces the increased tone of arterioles, effectively improving microcirculation and blood flow in all arterial pools, promotes the growth and opening of collaterals. It has a moderate venotonic effect on the cerebral vessels. Normalizes increased platelet aggregation (as opposed to acetylsalicylic acid), without suppressing cyclooxygenase-1 and without increasing the risk of hemorrhagic complications, such as bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract and hemorrhagic stroke. Prevents dystrophic changes in the placenta, improves placental blood flow, eliminates fetal tissue hypoxia. Stimulates the production of endogenous Interferon.

Indications and usage

- treatment and prevention of disorders of cerebral blood circulation in ischemic type;
- encephalopathy;
- prevention of arterial and venous thrombosis and their complications;
- prevention of thromboembolism after surgery for prosthetic heart valves;
- prevention of placental insufficiency in complicated pregnancy;
- violations of microcirculation of any origin (as part of complex therapy).

Set individually depending on the severity of the disease and the response of the patient.
At use to reduce platelet aggregation Curantil prescribed by 225-450 mg / day. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 600 mg / day. The daily dose is divided into several doses.
At dyscirculatory encephalopathy Curantil prescribed in a dose of 75 to 225 mg / day with the possibility of increasing to 450-600 mg / day.
The drug is recommended to take on an empty stomach, 1 hour before a meal; The pill should be swallowed whole (not clearing through and breaking), washed down with a small amount of liquid.

Adverse reactions

Cardiovascular: noise in the head, dizziness, headache, transient facial flushing; rarely - worsening of CHD, tachycardia.
From the digestive tract: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, urticaria.
Other: myalgia; in some cases - increased bleeding during surgical interventions.
When using therapeutic doses, side effects, as a rule, occur very rarely and are transient in nature.

- acute myocardial infarction;
- unstable angina;
- common stenosing atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries;
- subaortic stenosis;
- chronic heart failure in the stage of decompensation;
- severe hypotension;
- collapse;
- heart rhythm disorders;
- pronounced renal dysfunction;
- predisposition to bleeding;
- hypersensitivity to the drug.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy, the drug is used according to strict indications and under close medical supervision.
If necessary, long-term use of the drug during lactation should decide on the termination of breastfeeding.

Special notes

To prevent arterial thrombosis and thromboembolic states, it is possible to use the drug in combination with other antithrombotic agents.
Therapy can be carried out for a long time, it does not require laboratory monitoring of the therapeutic level of the drug in the blood.
The drug is not recommended to prescribe children under 12 years old due to the lack of data on the efficacy and safety of the use of Dipyridamole in patients of this age group.
During treatment, you should avoid the use of natural coffee and tea, as possible weakening of the drug.

Dipyridamole ingestion in a dose of 200 mg in humans resulted in a decrease in blood pressure. Reportedly, no life threatening symptoms were observed even with a dose of 2 g.

Drug Interactions

Xanthine derivatives weaken the effect of Curantila.
With simultaneous use, Courantila enhances the effect of other antithrombotic drugs (in particular, a pronounced antiplatelet and antithrombotic effect can be obtained by using Acetylsalicylic acid at a dose of 100-300 mg / day and Curantila at a dose of 225 mg / day), as well as antihypertensive drugs.
With simultaneous use, Curantil may weaken the anticholinergic effect of cholinesterase inhibitors.
With simultaneous use with beta-lactam antibiotics, tetracyclines and chloramphenicol, the effect of Curantila is enhanced.

Storage conditions

The drug should be stored at room temperature.
