Active ingredient and dosage form
Carniland hyoid drops - transparent liquid of dark yellow-green color with a smell of valerian and menthol.
1 ml contains:
Nitroglycerin solution 1% - 0.0217 ml
Menthol solution in menthyl isovalerate (validol) - 0.0435 ml
Lily of the valley tincture - 0,2170 ml
Valerian tincture - 0,2170 ml
Excipients: Ethanol to 1.0 ml
on 25 or 50 ml in a bottle dropper of orange glass.
Mechanism of action
Carniland is an antianginal remedy. It has a sedative and antispasmodic (vasodilator) action, improves blood circulation and myocardial metabolism.
The composition of the action is similar to the recipe, known as Votchala drops.
Indications
Relief of strokes, cardialgia.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to nitrates, shock, collapse, simultaneous reception of Sildenafil, age up to 18 years (efficacy and safety have not been established).
Carefully: cranial hypertension, cardiac tamponade, isolated mitral stenosis, constrictive pericarditis (conditions accompanied by a decrease in the filling pressure of the left ventricle), uncontrolled hypovolemia in patients with heart failure with normal or low pressure in the pulmonary artery, hemorrhagic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, recent head injury, toxic pulmonary edema, idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis, angle-closure glaucoma with high intraocular pressure; severe anemia, hyperthyroidism, impaired cerebral circulation, shock, hypotension (systolic blood pressure less than 90 mmHg), pregnancy, breastfeeding period.
Dosage and administration
Sublingual. 10-15 drops Carniland 3-4 times a day with a small amount of liquid or applied to a piece of sugar and kept in the mouth (under the tongue), without swallowing until complete absorption.
Taking into account individual sensitivity and tolerability, a single dose can be from 5 to 25 drops.
Adverse reactions
From the side of the cardiovascular system: dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, "nitrate" headache, tachycardia, skin flushing, fever; from the gastrointestinal tract: dry mouth, nausea.
In the presence of side effects, it is recommended to reduce the dose of the drug to a single dose.
Overdosage
Symptoms: pronounced decrease in blood pressure with orthostatic disregulation, reflex tachycardia, headache; asthenia may develop; dizziness, increased sleepiness, feeling of heat, nausea, vomiting.
If you suspect an overdose, you should immediately seek medical help.Before the arrival of the doctor, the victim should be laid with the legs raised.
Drug interactions
Simultaneous use with vasodilators, antihypertensive drugs, ACE inhibitors, beta-blockers, blockers of “slow” Calcium channels, procainamide, tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO), phosphodiesterase inhibitors, and also ethanol, strengthens hypotension, and also hypotension.
Special notes
While taking the drug Karniland, a significant decrease in atrethial pressure and dizziness may appear with a sudden transition to a vertical position from a “lying” or “sitting” position; when drinking alcohol, performing physical exercises and hot weather.
To the drug Karniland, as well as to all organic nitrates, with frequent use develops addiction, and this requires an increase in dosage.
