Active ingredient and dosage form

Tooth gel Yellow-brown color, soft consistency, without foreign particles, with a characteristic odor.
1 g of gel contains Lidocaine hydrochloride - 3.3 mg, cetylpyridinium chloride - 1 mg
Other Ingredients: sorbitol solution 70%, xylitol, ethanol 96%, glycerol, hydroxyethyl cellulose 5000, PEG-40, castor oil, hydrogenated concentrate, laureth 9, macrogol 300, sodium saccharin, levomenthol, vegetable flavor, caramel (E150), purified water.

Mechanism of action

Calgel - a combined drug with local anesthetic and antimicrobial action for local use. Lidocaine is a local amide-type anesthetic. The action is due to the suppression of nerve conduction due to the blockade of sodium channels. Cetylpyridinium chloride is an antiseptic. Suppresses the growth of a number of bacteria and fungi.

Indications and usage

Teething pain in children aged 5 months and older.

Dosage and administration

The drug is intended for local use. A small amount of gel (about 7.5 mm) is applied to the tip of a clean finger and gently rubbed into the inflamed area of ​​the gums. If necessary, the gel can be applied again with an interval of at least 20 minutes, but not more than 6 times / day.

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions: urticaria, pruritus, anaphylactic shock, difficulty swallowing.

Contraindications

- renal failure;
- liver failure;
- arterial hypotension;
- chronic heart failure stage II-III;
- violation of intraventricular conduction;
- bradycardia;
- hypersensitivity to the drug.

Special notes

It should be warned about the need to consult with a pediatrician before using the drug. If signs of allergic reactions appear, Kalgel should be canceled immediately. It is necessary to consider the possibility of swallowing the drug during feeding and during sleep. Do not exceed recommended doses.
