Mechanism of action

Locoid has anti-inflammatory local, anti-edema, antipruritic effect.

Indications and usage

Surface uninfected, sensitive to therapy with local GCS, skin diseases:

eczema;

dermatitis;

psoriasis.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Lokoid;

acne rosacea on the face;

acne vulgaris;

dermatitis, localized in the mouth;

perianal, genital pruritus;

dermatitis complicated by bacterial (for example impetigo), viral (for example Herpes simplex), fungal (for example candidiasis or dermatophytosis) infections.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

GCS penetrate through the placenta. Impact on the fetus can be particularly pronounced when applying the drug on large surfaces. No data on the amount of Hydrocortisone excreted in breast milk; It is recommended to take special care when prescribing the drug during lactation.

Adverse reactions

Local reactions: rarely - skin irritation. With long-term use of Lokoid and / or application to large surfaces, systemic side effects characteristic of GCS are possible.

The risk of local and systemic side effects increases with prolonged use of the drug on large surfaces of damaged skin, with the use of occlusive dressings.

Dosage and administration

Outwardly. A small amount of Lokid ointment is applied to the affected skin 1-3 times a day. When a positive trend appears, it can be used from 1 to 3 times a week. In the case of resistance (with the localization of dense psoriatic plaques on the elbow areas, knees) - under the occlusive dressings. Weekly dose in normal conditions should not exceed 30-60 g.
