Composition

Effervescent pills for solution for oral administration:

3 g (1 scoop) powder or 1 pill Blamaren contain citric acid 1197 mg, potassium bicarbonate 967.5 mg, anhydrous trisodium citrate 835.5 mg;
80 pcs. in the package, complete with indicator paper and a control calendar.

Mechanism of action

Nephrololytic, alkalizing urine. Blemaren consistently neutralizes the urine reaction when it approaches a neutral one and is established within the pH range of 6.6–6.8, the solubility of uric acid salts increases significantly and the excretion of potassium increases. If this pH value can be maintained for a long time, the existing uric acid stones dissolve and their formation is prevented. In addition, the drug reduces the excretion of Calcium, improves the solubility of calcium oxalate in the urine, inhibits the formation of crystals and, therefore, prevents the formation of calcium-oxalate stones.

Indications and usage

Urolithiasis, dissolution and prevention of the formation of uric acid and calcium oxalate stones, as well as mixed urate acid oxalate stones containing up to 25% oxalate, for alkalizing the urine of patients receiving cytotoxic drugs or drugs that increase the excretion of uric acid, porphyria (symptomatic treatment).

Contraindications

Acute or chronic renal failure, violation of KHS (metabolic alkalosis), chronic infectious diseases of the urinary tract, caused by bacteria that break down urea; strict salt-free diet (including in severe forms of arterial hypertension).

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Not recommended (there is no data on the safety of the use of Blemarin).

Dosage and administration

Inside, after eating. The average daily dose of Blamaren ranges from 6 to 18 g of granulated powder (or 2-6 effervescent tablets). The daily dose is divided evenly into 2–3 doses. The granulated powder is dissolved in a liquid (1 scoop or 1 table for a glass of water, tea, juice or alkaline mineral water).

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions, edema (sodium retention), metabolic alkalosis, dyspepsia.

Special notes

When dissolving uric acid stones, do not exceed the therapeutic dose of Blemaren, because in alkaline urine (pH above 7) phosphate salts are deposited on uric acid stones, which prevents their further dissolution.

Storage conditions

In a dry, dark place at a temperature of no higher than 20 ° C.
