Mechanism of action
INDOCOLLYR EYE DROPS - NSAIDs for topical use in ophthalmology. Indocollier has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
The main mechanism of action of Indocollir is the inhibition of the synthesis of prostaglandins, which play an important role in the pathogenesis of inflammation and pain.
Indications and usage
Inhibition of miosis during cataract surgery;
Treatment and prevention of inflammatory processes after surgery on the eyeball;
Prevention of cystic edema of the macula after cataract operations;
Treatment of non-infectious conjunctivitis;
Treatment and prevention of post-traumatic inflammatory process in case of penetrating and non-penetrating injuries of the eyeball (as an addition to local antimicrobial therapy).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to components of Indocollir;
Hypersensitivity to Acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs, manifested by bouts of bronchial asthma, the appearance of urticaria, acute rhinitis.
Dosage and administration
To inhibit intraoperative miosis, Indocollir is instilled 1 drop in the conjunctival sac for 2 hours with an interval of 30 minutes (4 times) before surgery.
For the prevention of cystic edema of the macula, the drug is instilled 1 drop 3-4 times / day. within 1 month after operation.
For other indications, appoint 1 drop 3-4 times / day. depending on the severity of the condition. The course of treatment can last from 1 to 4 weeks.
Adverse reactions
Special senses: rarely, mild or moderate burning and / or temporary loss of visual clarity immediately after instillation of eye drops; with long-term use Indokollir - corneal clouding, conjunctivitis.
Allergic reactions: rarely, itching and redness of the skin.
With long-term use Indokollir possible development of systemic side effects of Indomethacin.
Before burying Indocollar, remove contact lenses; You can install them 15 minutes after instillation.
The bottle must be closed after each use of the drug. Do not touch the eye with a pipette tip.
Storage conditions
