Mechanism of action
Antimicrobial.
Combined antibacterial drug.
Chloramphenicol - broad-spectrum antibiotic, inhibits the synthesis of proteins of sensitive microorganisms; active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria,Mycoplasma spp., Ricketsia spp., Chlamydia spp.;not active against Pseudomonas aeruginosa,mushrooms.
Tetracycline - broad-spectrum antibiotic, inhibits bacterial protein synthesis at the level of PKK, has a bacteriostatic effect. Active against gram-negative bacteria,Chlamydia spp., Mycoplasma spp., Ricketsia spp., Entamoeba histolytica. The resistance of microorganisms develops slowly.
Colistin - an antibiotic that is isolated fromBacillus polymyxa (var. Colistinus). It has a bactericidal effect on most gram-negative bacteria (incl.Pseudomonas spp., Haemophilus spp.), active against fungi. There is no cross-resistance with broad-spectrum antibiotics with which colistin shows synergism.
Indications
- conjunctivitis (catarrhal, purulent, trachoma);
- blepharitis;
- blepharoconjunctivitis;
- bacterial keratitis;
- septic corneal ulcer;
- dacryocystitis.
Contraindications
- individual hypersensitivity to the drug;
- abnormal liver function, kidney;
- pregnancy;
- lactation period;
- children's age (up to 8 years).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Contraindicated in pregnancy. At the time of treatment should stop breastfeeding.
Special notes
In the absence of significant clinical improvement over a relatively short period of time or the appearance of allergic reactions to the components of the drug, it is necessary to interrupt the treatment and prescribe the appropriate therapy.

Dosage and administration
Lay in the lower conjunctival arch 3-4 times a day. When combined with the use of eye drops, it is enough to use an eye ointment 1 time per night.
Side effects
Prolonged topical administration of antibiotics may cause symptoms of local irritation (short-term conjunctival hyperemia). There have been cases of symptoms of hypersensitivity in the form of burning, angioedema, urticaria, bullous and maculopapular dermatitis, which requires discontinuation of the drug.
Drug interaction
At topical administration of Kolbiocin pharmacological interactions with other drugs have not been identified.
Storage conditions
At temperatures not above 25 ° C. After opening the drug stored in the refrigerator at t 2-8 ° C.
