Active ingredient
eye drops - colorless transparent liquid.
1 ml of the drug contains oxybuprocaine - 4 mg
Excipients: benzalkonip chloride, purified water;
5 ml in a dropper bottle in a carton box.
pharmachologic effect
Inocain - local anesthetic; blocks the nerve ending. It penetrates the tissues for local use. Compared with tetracaine and other local anesthetics, it has less irritating effect on the conjunctiva and cornea. Surface anesthesia of the conjunctiva and the cornea occurs after 30 seconds and lasts 1 5 minutes.
Inokain easily penetrates the corneal stroma after a single instillation into the conjunctival cavity. Over the next 15 minutes, there is a quantitative decrease in the stromal concentration of the drug, which causes a 12-15 minute period of anesthesia with a single instillation.
Indications and usage
Local anesthesia in ophthalmology:
- Measurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry);
- gonioscopy;
- conjunctival diagnostic scraping;
- extraction of foreign bodies and stitches from the cornea and conjunctiva;
- short-term surgery on the cornea and conjunctiva.
Contraindications
Individual hypersensitivity to the drug.
Sufficient experience in the use of the drug during pregnancy, lactation and in children do not. It is possible to use Inokai for the treatment of children, pregnant women and nursing mothers as prescribed by the attending physician, if the expected therapeutic effect exceeds the risk of possible side effects.
Dosage and administration
Locally, instilled in a conjunctival sac 1 drop. Long-term anesthesia (up to 1 hour) provides 3-time instillation with an interval of 4-5 minutes.
Adverse reactions
Short-term tingling sensation, burning and redness of the conjunctiva; allergic reactions; keratitis (rare)
Drug interactions
It is noted that oxybuprocaine can theoretically reduce the antibacterial activity of sulfonamides.
Special notes
Use only for installations in a conjunctival bag. Do not use for injection.
Prolonged, repeated and long-term use (as well as other local anesthetics) can lead to stable corneal opacities.
Not intended for long-term therapy in the complex treatment of eye diseases.
During anesthesia, it is necessary to protect the eye from irritating chemical effects, foreign bodies and friction.
Storage conditions
List B. At room temperature (up to 25 ° C) protected from light and inaccessible to children. Do not freeze.
Shelf life - 2 years.
After opening the bottle, the drug should be used within 1 month.
