Indications drug Evkazolin Aqua

relief of symptoms of acute rhinitis of various etiologies, sinusitis;

adjuvant therapy of acute otitis media (to reduce swelling of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity);

preparation of the patient for diagnostic manipulations (rhinoscopy).

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to any component of the drug;

arterial hypertension;

tachycardia;

pronounced atherosclerosis;

glaucoma;

atrophic rhinitis;

transphenoidal hypophysectomy or a history of transnasal / transoral surgical interventions with a dura mater;

pregnancy;

children's age (up to 6 years).

Carefully: patients with cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, diseases of the thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism), patients who, when using adrenergic drugs, have strong reactions, manifested in the form of insomnia, dizziness, tremor, cardiac arrhythmias, propensity to increase HELL; patients with prostatic hyperplasia, women during lactation.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The drug can not be used during pregnancy.

It is not known whether xylometazoline is excreted in breast milk, so women who breastfeed can use the drug only when, according to the doctor,the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the baby.

Side effects

With frequent and / or long-term use - irritation and / or dryness of the nasal mucosa, burning and paresthesia of the nasal mucosa, sneezing, hypersecretion of the nasal mucosa; swelling of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, palpitations, tachycardia, arrhythmias, elevation HELLheadache, vomiting, insomnia, blurred vision; depression.

Interaction

Xylometazoline interacts with other LS only with resorptive effect.

Other adrenomimetics may enhance the effect of xylometazoline.

Adrenergic blocking agents and sympatholytics, BKK weaken its effect.

The drug enhances the hypertensive effect of tricyclic antidepressants and inhibitors MAO.

Dosage and administration

Intranasal. Adults and children over 6 years old - 1 injection in each nasal passage 3-4 times a day. The course of treatment depends on the course of the disease and should not exceed 5-7 days in a row.

After completing the course of treatment, the drug can be prescribed again only after a few days.

Overdosage

Symptoms: decrease in body temperature, bradycardia, increase HELL.

Treatment: symptomatic.

Special notes

The drug should not be used continuously for long periods (more than 7 days in a row).

Do not exceed the recommended dose of the drug, especially in the treatment of children and the elderly.

Use with caution while driving a motor vehicle or performing other types of work that require increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions.
