Latin name: Nasivin® Sansitive.
Active ingredient: Oxymetazoline * (Oxymetazoline *).
ATH: Oxymetazoline.
Pharmacological groups: Alpha adrenomimetics.
Anti-congestants.

pharmachologic effect :
Adrenomimetic agent for local use. Has a vasoconstrictor effect. Intranasal administration reduces swelling of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract. When instilled into the conjunctival sac reduces the swelling of the conjunctiva.

Pharmacokinetics:
The effect is manifested 15 minutes after application and lasts for 6-8 hours.

Indications :
Obstruction of nasal breathing with colds, inflammation of the sinuses, Eustachitis, hay fever, allergic rhinitis, congestion and conjunctival edema.

Dosing regimen:
Apply topically.

Side effect:
On the part of the respiratory system: transient dryness and burning of the mucous membrane of the nasal passages, dry mouth and throat, sneezing; with prolonged use may cause reactive hyperemia of the mucous membrane, atrophy of the mucous membrane.
Since the cardiovascular system: heartbeat; rarely, arterial hypertension.
On the part of the central nervous system: increased irritability, dizziness, headache, sleep disturbances; with prolonged use - tachyphylaxis.
On the part of the digestive system: nausea.
On the part of the organ of vision: with conjunctival administration, mydriasis, accommodation paresis, irritation of the conjunctiva and surrounding tissues, retraction of the eyelid are possible.

Contraindications:
Inflammation of the mucous membrane of the nasal passages without secretion, chronic heart failure, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, pregnancy, children under 6 years old (for eye drops), oxymetazoline hypersensitivity, atrophic rhinitis, lactation, arrhythmias, marked atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension, chronic renal failure closed angle glaucoma.

Use during pregnancy and lactation:
Oxymetazoline is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).

Special instructions:
In the recommended dosage without consultation with your doctor you can use no more than 3 days. Avoid getting the drug intended for intranasal administration in the eyes.
Influence on ability to drive motor transport and control mechanisms
The drug has an effect on vision, possibly reducing the reaction rate.

Drug Interactions:
With the simultaneous appointment of MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants may increase blood pressure.
Oxymetazoline slows down the absorption of local anesthetic drugs, prolongs their action.
Co-administration of other vasoconstrictor drugs increases the risk of side effects.

The drug is approved for use as a means of non-prescription.
