Composition

16g:
- aluminum phosphate 10.4 g
- sorbitol 70% 4.48 g
- agar-agar 800 0,0448 g
- pectin 0.0872 g
- Calcium sulfate 0,0117 g
- potassium sorbate 0.0402 g
- orange flavor 0,080 g
- purified water up to 16 g

Mechanism of action

Antacid medication. It has an acid-neutralizing, enveloping, adsorbing effect. Reduces the proteolytic activity of pepsin. Does not cause alkalization of gastric juice, while maintaining the acidity of gastric contents at a physiological level. Does not lead to secondary hypersecretion of hydrochloric acid. Forms a protective layer on the gastrointestinal mucosa. It helps to remove toxins, gases and microorganisms throughout the digestive tract, normalizes the passage of the contents through the intestines.

Indications

- gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer;

- gastritis with normal or increased secretion;

- hernia of the esophageal opening of the diaphragm;

- gastroesophageal reflux, reflux esophagitis, incl. accompanied by heartburn, sour belching;

- syndrome of non-ulcer dyspepsia;

- functional diarrhea;

- functional diseases of the colon;

- gastric and intestinal disorders caused by intoxication, medication, irritants (acid, alkali), alcohol.

Contraindications

Phosphalugel should not be taken if you are intolerant of any of the components of the drug and patients with impaired renal function.
You should not take the drug for a long time without a doctor's prescription. With caution used in the presence of kidney disease, liver cirrhosis, severe heart failure. In elderly patients and patients with impaired renal function when using Phosphalugel in recommended doses, an increase in the concentration of aluminum in the blood serum is possible.
Tetracycline antibiotics, iron preparations, cardiac glycosides should be taken no earlier than 2 hours after taking Phosphalugel.
Perhaps the use of the drug in therapeutic doses during periods of pregnancy and lactation if indicated.

Side effects

On the part of the digestive system: rarely - constipation (mainly in elderly patients and bedridden patients).

Interaction

Phosphalugel can reduce the effectiveness of some concurrently used drugs.

How to take, the course of administration and dosage

For adults and children over 6 years of age - 1-2 pills of Phosphalugel are ingested 2-3 times a day.
The regimen depends on the nature of the disease: - gastroesophageal reflux, diaphragmatic hernia - immediately after eating and at night;
- gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer - 1-2 hours after eating and immediately when pain occurs;
- gastritis, dyspepsia - before meals;
- functional diseases of the colon - in the morning on an empty stomach and at night.If, in the interval between the methods of Phosphalugel, pains continue, repeat the use of the drug.
For children younger than 6 months - 1/4 bag or 1 teaspoon (4 g) after each of 6 feedings; older than 6 months - 1/2 bag or 2 teaspoons after each of the 4 feedings.
Phosphalugel can be taken pure or diluted with half a glass of water before it is taken.

Overdosage

Symptoms: constipation, because large amounts of aluminum ions inhibit intestinal motility. Treatment: the use of laxative drugs.

Special notes

With constipation, occasionally occurring when taking Phosphalugel, it is recommended to increase the amount of water consumed daily.
The drug can be used by patients suffering from diabetes.
The drug can be used prophylactically to reduce the absorption of radioactive elements.
The use of the drug Phosphalugel does not affect the results of X-ray examination.
When using Phosphalugel, it should be consulted with a doctor at the same time as other drugs, because Phosphalugel will reduce the effectiveness of certain drugs.
